Since 1945, music lovers from Columbus and the surrounding communities have come together as the Friends of Music, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of our area. Our mission is to present concerts of exceptional quality while keeping access affordable for everyone.

Our diverse lineup features performances ranging from classical piano, strings, wind ensembles, and vocalists to ensembles celebrating the music of our past and musical theater. Each season includes six concerts running from September through May, making it a beloved tradition and a celebration of the arts in our region.

Venue & Accessibility

All concerts take place at the Nantkes Performing Arts Center, a spacious 1,300+ seat, fully handicap-accessible auditorium located at 2200 26th Street. The venue offers zero-grade access from the street to the auditorium floor and multiple wheelchair seating areas.

Membership & Pricing

Season memberships now include:

Adult Membership: $75
Children/Students: Free with an accompanying adult membership

Membership includes admission to all six concerts and also extends to our reciprocity program with five partner associations in Norfolk, Grand Island, Kearney, Fremont, and Yankton - allowing you to attend additional concerts in those communities for a small fee.

The Friends of Music proudly continue a legacy of bringing extraordinary live performances to Columbus. Join us for an unforgettable season!
