2020-2021 Season Canceled
Allied Concert Services, Inc., of Plymouth, Minnesota, our booking provider, announced recently that, due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic, with great disappointment they are postponing all scheduled fall 2020 concert tours and moving them to the fall 2021 schedule. This would include any rescheduled concerts that were cancelled earlier this spring. They are, however, still planning on all of the tours scheduled for the winter and spring of 2021 to proceed as originally scheduled.
The Huron Area Concert Association Executive Board has made the difficult decision to cancel their entire 2020-2021 season. Given the recent ongoing surge in active COVID-19 cases in Beadle County, the health and safety of audience members and the artists are of utmost importance.
This second COVID-19 spike in the Huron area may not be the last of this pandemic. Current city ordinances have placed restrictions on large gatherings and require a proposal to mitigate the community spread. Local school officials are doubtful they would allow large groups to utilize their facility until a vaccine is in place. The insurance carriers have discontinued writing policies containing any clauses regarding viruses or pandemics.
It was decided that selling tickets at any time for only the spring concerts would put an additional health risk on sellers and patrons alike.
The Huron Area Concert Association has been active in the Huron community for over 48 years. They have appreciated the support of patrons and supporters that have helped provide world-class entertainment over the years. The fall of 2021 will begin their 50th anniversary season with a magnificent lineup of outstanding talent and special events.
HACA thanks their members and business partners for their continued support and appreciate your continued enthusiasm in the future.
Huron Area Concert Association is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization registered with the State of South Dakota. Our primary support comes in large part, and with much appreciation, from our many faithful season membership patrons and generous contributions from our many friends and business partners. The Huron Community Foundation has also been very generous and we thank them for their support. Our hosts at Huron High School have been most gracious in allowing us to utilize their fine auditorium, along with their capable student and custodial staff.
